Maybe in the long run. Maybe. Time will tell. But right now there's no way to say that Mack will have a bigger impact next season than either Woodley or Tuck. So unless we plan on playing the 3-4 primarily - which would be a massive mistake give the fact that we just let Houston walk, who would have been an incredible DE in the 3-4, and so we simply do NOT have the personnel to field a 3-man front even though we could field an EXCELLENT set of 3-4 LBs - I'm not sure what role Mack is going to take in 2014 that will "help the defense tremendously."

Both Tuck and Woodley are listed as DEs on the roster, but neither has the size to hold down the LDE spot. Mack is listed as LB. If we play Mack primarily at LB in the 4-3 I think we're fucking fools.

Things are murky right now. We don't have the personnel to field a fully effective 3-4 OR 4-3. We are going to find out if Allen is half as good on the D side of the ball as some seem to think. At the very least we should be in the top 10 in sacks. But I fear for our run D.
