The Seahawks have just acquired another intriguing weapon.

Per a league source, the Raiders have traded quarterback Terrelle Pryor to the defending Super Bowl champions. Terms of the deal are not yet know.

A third-round pick in the 2011 supplemental draft, Pryor spent three seasons with the Raiders. He has one year left on his rookie contract, at $705,000.

More to come.

Raiders trade Terrelle Pryor to Seattle Seahawks

Terrelle Pryor is on the move.

NFL Media Insider Ian Rapoport reported Monday that the Oakland Raiders have traded the quarterback to the Seattle Seahawks, according to a source involved with the process.

ProFootballTalk first reported the move.

The move comes one day before the Raiders were to begin offseason workouts. The team is comfortable with Matt McGloin serving as the backup behind Matt Schaub, who was acquired in a trade from the Houston Texans.

General manager Reggie McKenzie told reporters at the NFL Annual Meeting last month that Pryor asked to be let go. "Terrelle wants to start so bad," McKenzie said. "I'll visit with him. We'll talk to him."

Pryor gets his wish for a fresh start, but he won't be a starter as long as Russell Wilson is entrenched in Seattle.

Did not see this coming, but if the Raiders receive a pick higher than a 6th or 7th round pick, I would be shocked.

What did RM trade to get Flynn & Schuab (who was also going to be cut)? Unless, he gets those picks back, or at least Schuab, he is in the hole.

Seahawks, 49ers both were pursuing Pryor

The Seahawks have secured yet another victory in their ongoing rivalry with the 49ers.

Per multiple sources, Seattle and San Francisco were both pursuing quarterback Terrelle Pryor from the Raiders. In the end, Seattle won.

Adam Schefter of ESPN reports that the Seahawks gave up a seventh-round pick for Pryor. The 49ers presumably offered less; possibly, a conditional low-round pick in 2015 based on Pryor making the 53-man roster in 2014.

It makes sense that the 49ers and Seahawks, both low on the waiver priority list, would pursue Pryor via trade. They had little shot at him if he had been waived.

The Seahawks had no shot, absent a trade. They are at the bottom of the waiver list throughout the offseason and into the first few weeks of the regular season. If the 49ers were interested, they would have secured Pryor via waivers over Seattle.

The Raiders will get the Seahawks 7th round pick - the last pick in the entire draft. Congrats RM.

For the record, while somewhat on the fence about Pryor, would've rather kept him. Unfortunately, the Raiders fired seemingly the best Raider coach in recent memory for maximizing a player's potential. What a wasted opportunity.
